I just started creating web pages on October 3, 1995, so if you see
anything funky on this page, please send mail to
tsai@ucla.edu; i.e.
if these pages appear too small on your computer.
Please send relevant details - for example...which web program you use,
where you are using your program (SeasNet, home, etc...),
color or black & white screen, screen size, etc...
Sorry about the quick job on this web page; I just finished jury duty.
The format will be changing rapidly.
The ucla.classes.cs.cs181 newsgroup
is designed for
(1) announcements from the TA and professor
(2) student discussions (Please no postings of entire solutions! :-)
(3) student questions, which might be of general interest
Old Announcements
- 10/24/95 (Wk 4 Tue) Transition tables should represent a machine exactly
- no more, no less.
In an NFSA, a machine may block; this shows up as a blank entry in the
transition table.
In a DFSA, blocking is not allowed; all entries in the table must be filled.
All "dead" and "live" states must appear as rows in the transition table.
- 10/23/95 (Wk 4 Mon) hw2 has been graded. The graded hw1 and hw2 are

for all files, so you can view
